Supply and demand are what keep housing prices so high in those areas. People have (to a certain extent) live in SF/NY if that is where their job is so they are fairly inelastic in terms of demand.

Texas schools have the exact same supply as any other school in the country.

ETA: The market for housing in SF/NY is SF/NY. The market for a college football coach is national. There are no "forces" in Texas changing that market any differently than anywhere else.

Not true. If you don't get a coach that knows Texas and knows Texas recruiting then you can really waste your money. There is an extra element to this state that makes some coaches a better fit than others. We wasted more money on Fran than Sumlin.

Why do you care what we pay Sumlin? Why does anyone care?
