Always felt a lot more like Gate City and the rest of SW VA to me. I did not look at that as a positive.

That is probably a closer description of it. Personally, I'm suspicious of our Lt. Governor/Speaker of the Senate because he's from Sullivan and extremely conservative. He has changed TN's government culture from a more mellow form republicanism to shite getting embarrassing.
