Also, what is Texas A&M OOC scheduling looking like the next couple of years? Playing world beaters like Rice and the other D-II schools in Texas doesnt leave you much room for finger pointing IMO
You are missing the point. Our OOC is roughly comparable to theirs. However, our CONFERENCE schedule is light years ahead of theirs. Our least interesting potential conference home games are Kentucky and Vandy and since they are in the East we aren't going to see them very much. This year we get Miss State, Alabama, South Carolina, and Auburn at home and two Texas based neutral site games with Arizona State and Arkansas. Next year we get UCLA, LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee at home. It's just a far more interesting slate that we get due to conference affiliation.
Since you asked though, here it is.

Seems like the changes to the P5 scheduling rules are making alot of AD's re-think past rivalries. I wonder if Mizzou and Kansas will be next?
Seems like a no brainer for KU. They aren't exactly a football power and that game at least brings interest.

They have to go to Waco, Lubbock, Ames IA, Lawrence KS, Stillwater OK, and Manhattan KS regularly.
That sucks.
Lawrence >>>>> Manhattan....

No, we hate them and they hate us, we just don't care to help out their schedule issues by playing them after they tried to destroy the big 12 and spun lie after lie.

I mean...
This is in the 4th quarter of a close game. That's terrible.

Maybe if A&M fielded a stronger team, people would've wanted to attend games at Kyle Field.

God our schedule is so awesome. I mean I want to play tu again, and I love rooting for their failure... but with that home schedule... there is just so much fun to be had... frick em. We should wait til they are begging to bring it back. We won't be bored in the mean time.

IKR?
It's a head-scratcher.
And it's not like they've had awful teams of late.
Like I said, it's a culture thing.
They'd rather be in the parking lots or at parties than at the games.
If they want to remin viable as a big conference commodity, theyre going to have to turn that around--fast.

Your OOC isn't even close to theirs. Glad you think so though, I'd expect nothing less from your delusions.

I'd take their defensive 2015 recruiting class over yours right now.
This is literally the definition of goal post moving. First you say that Texas won all the defensive recruit battles, but now you are backpedaling to well they won some battles but i still like their defensive class more.
Which is subjective anyway. Their DB class was first class and they signed Malik Jefferson. DL is a huge gaping hole. LB cant do much when you got 320 pound OL on top of you.

Don't you think A&M would have first hand experience watching our LBs get destroyed by OL?

I mean I know sooooo many teasips. I have group chats with tu grads I talk to on a daily basis. My entire experience as a student was in the Big 12, and I could have never imagined a scenario where we wouldn't play them, or OU for that matter.
I envy the current student pool that's only got to experience life in the SEC. It's exciting and new and the first two years A&M had the greatest player to ever step on a college football field. Honestly if you're a current student, qhy would y'all care about them? You don't have to play them. You have to play Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and LSU.
I think it's important we play them again. We are the two flagship schools in the state, and there are too many ties to ignore them forever. The rivalry with tu extends far beyond the football field. I also think it's vitally important we explore this SEC thing on our own for a little while longer. I think it's part of the ever growing transformation of A&M as a small all male military school to what it is today.
And with the Sugar Bowl tie in with the SEC/Big 12... imagine the hype of the two teams meeting again for the first time when both are actually good? It sucks that it would happen in that dirty swamp instead of the greatest State in the Union... but still. Or maybe the Cotton Bowl tie in when it's a semi-playoff game or the Final? How amazing would that be?

I don't either.
Of all places, expectations on this site will lead to disappointments.
