Continued into ww2 as most used mommy and daddy's political clout and money to avoid military service. Hence they would rather sip tea while America was at war. A&M was the opposite with entire classes leaving school to enlist out of sense of duty. Trend continued into Vietnam as they burned their draft cards in rallies on their campus.
