re: Is it better to know a bit of the synopsis for a show/movie, or go in cold?

I prefer to have some idea as to the movie plot before going. And by idea, I mean trailers and such. No book reading at all. Really spoiled the movie for me. Lone Survivor (the movie) was a let down for me because I read the book first. (Most excellent read !)

Last movie that I went in dry was "Rock of Ages". Had no idea it was a musical....and no idea Tom Cruise was the lead actor in the movie. Seeing him sing 80's music just about did me in. It was Sooo wrong on so many levels.
