Alabama was put into the BCS for the simple purpose of ushering in the playoff.. Or do you think that the BCS just likes Alabama better than Michigan, who was held out of the Championship in 2006?
Did we lose to a 6-6 team in 06?

At the end of the 2006 Regular season, OSU was #1, followed by USC at #2 Michigan at #3, and Florida at #4. USC lost and fell to #5 behind LSU.
Florida beat Arkansas in the SECCG and jumped Michigan, who was idle, to #2 in the BCS for the right to play in the NC. Michigan, in essence was penalized for not ending the season with a win against a highly ranked opponent in a Conference Championship.
Fast forward to 2011, LSU was #1, followed by Oklahoma State at #2, and Alabama at #3. Oklahoma State lays an egg against Iowa State and drops to #3. Then, as Alabama sits idle, Oklahoma State proceeds to destroy the 13th ranked Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 44-10 and earn the Big 12 Championship.
The two situations couldn't be more contradictory.
