Well if there is one thing MA has been good at so far here at the U of A it's been his ability to avoid expectations, so I'm sure he'll do whatever he needs to do to avoid ever being a preseason #1.

We're going into season #5. The honeymoon is over. He's going to probably drop back a bit next year because he's losing two players early (wouldn't Cal love to have a junior) to the pros and he hasn't recruited well enough to just reload like top 20 schools do.

He gets a final pass from me for 2016.

If he can't get to the sweet sixteen by 2017, he's expendable as far as I'm concerned, whether he's competing against 100 teams or 300 teams.

I look at it as MA entering season 3, as the first two years with Pelphrey's mess of recruits and APR troubles/lost scholarship had nothing to do with MA. It was in such bad shape a coach we announced as hired, bailed within 24 hours.

So in year 2 with all of his resources available/established we made the NCAAT as a Top 5 seed and won a game, can't complain.

We've recruited pretty well, and the 2016 team could set up around Monk for a deep NCAAT run. Can't see into the future, but it certainly isn't looking bad right now and if 2015 is a transition year into a phenomenal 2016 team, so be it.

Quite a bit different from what Van Horn inherited, a brand new stadium that for the first 5+ years was the top stadium in the entire sport, and a program that had recent success with no issues off the field. To follow that up he's received more financial support/upgrades than any other program on campus, hell he got a baseball indoor practice facility (something maybe 3 other teams in the whole country have) before our basketball program got theirs (last team in the SEC to get one I believe), not to mention virtually no upgrades to BWA since 1993.

Not even worth comparing the two, drastically different situations.
