As I said, Bama basketball was really at an inflection point. Some underwhelming hire like Prohm/White/Pitino would just have sucked the life out of the program. Those hires were a bigger risk than CAJ. We needed the excitement and energy of a big name hire. As far as his salary goes, it's commiserate with a guy like CAJ's resume

I think it's too much but many Bama fans are hellbent on convincing themselves that this is a smart move.
