A very underratted but crucial aspect of this hire. To go from a guy like Marshall to Prohm or some other "up and comer" would have killed a lot of buzz being generated this offseason. AJ is a name that can get the fans fired up. That's huge. The AD doesn't necessarily have to sell the hire to the Fanbase

Like I said above, the ticket sales and other revenues they make from this compared to Prohm or White will probably make up whatever difference in contracts there is from $2.5M to $2.95M (Scarbo said his deal is a hair under $3M).

They were on the edge of losing people for a long time until Prohm/White proved themselves. This hire instantly got people jacked again. He may suck and people may lose that feeling, but this hire has had the effect on Alabama people the way Pearl did on Auburn.
