Honestly, there isn't much precedent for this. I've spent the last few days searching for some, and the only real example of a true NBA guy with no college experience taking a college head coaching job is Fred Hoiberg. And he wasn't a head coach in the NBA.
Am I missing somebody over the last 10 years or so (other than Reggie Theus, who was even an assistant at L'ville before NMSU)?

Not that I can think of. Most guys either start in the NBA and stay there or start their careers in college and test the NBA waters.
