In the spirit of Alabama's springtime tDecline, what is your team's most miserable offseason you can remember?
This question is particularly aimed at Georgia and Arkansas fans

I don't remember the name of the school, but a friend of mine was telling me about a school that got exposed for letting their defensive coordinator play with some children's dingies and then try to cover it up.

The scandal broke in early November 2011.
When Alabama beat Penn State in Happy Valley in September 2011, Joe Paterno was one of the most respected figures in American sport. A true titan. Sometimes, it is amazing how the mighty fall.

The 2011 Auburn off-season was bad, mainly due to arrests. The 2014 Auburn off-season was bad, mainly due to injuries.

Bobby Petrino comes to mind. That offseason sucked the oxygen out of my body - brutal! From what I've seen, you guys are NOWHERE near that level yet

Hiring Zook in 02 was pretty bad (at least Muschamp was a proven coordinator). Foley had gone all-in on Stoops and had no backup.
Edit: I take that back, last year was worse with us coming off 4-8 and FSU winning it all.

We had a good string of Jordan Jefferson, Tyrann Mathieu, and Jeremy Hill going in consecutive offseasons. Losing Mathieu hurt the worst. It came out of nowhere basically.

Pick any between about 2005 and 2012.

Arkansas wins (loses) for the worst offseason ever. Well, except for maybe SMU and UAB.
No flame. That was bad.

There have been a few. IIRC, pre-2008 was really awful with injuries and some arrests. 2010 had jersey-gate, which may have been the worst single event. We also won the Fulmer Cup in 2010, probably the only school to do so off of purely petty offenses. 2012 had a bunch of arrests as well. Last year wasn't great.
I'd say 2010 was the worst.

This isn't even Bama's worst off season.
We've yet to have a coach get caught with two hookers/strippers.

Our coaching offseasons definitely top the list. What a disaster some of those were.

Ahh, yeah. True. Probably about 2 ranks higher than child molestation charges. I mean a true friend would not rat you out just because they caught you with a kid's winky in your mouth, so can't blame that guy.

This offseason has sucked losing Chavis to a division rival and all the ugliness surrounding it.
2011 was bad, Kragthorpe's Parkinson's diagnosis and a few weeks later the bar fight.
With hindsight, 08 was the worst. Perrilloux gets kicked out and we replace Pelini with frickin Mallveto

2003 when all the guys sold their SECC rings and 9 of them got suspended for the Clemson game sucked pretty bad at the time. They proceeded to win that game 30-0 making it not as bad.
Losing Lumpkin to the first of his many knee injuries before 2004 season fricking sucked. I'm still convinced he would have been a monster.
2008 was miserable. I would have loved to see a full strength UGA team that season but it was a crippled team before the season even began.
