Indianapolis is pretty close by.
I still remember y'all bringing a ton of fans to the Rose Bowl against UCLA.

That's cause they were all Indiana fans earlier this year then bought their Kentucky tees earlier this week.

They like to watch Kentucky in stadiums rather that at home because stadiums have indoor plumbing.

It's not just that they travel well (though they always do) it's that they're very, very, spread out. The Cats are a home team in several states due to the size of BBN which is immense.

Also, UK football fans though smaller in number and less sidewalky travel well to places like Knoxville and always have. Indy is close enough to where they'd have a huge crowd even without the enormous size of the basketball-only BBN fans.

I think a lot of folks forget UK basketball is a national brand. The Lady Vols are as well. And the reach of both is far beyond the fans normally generated even by great teams.

First off Indianapolis is close to Lexington. Second of all, the term "traveling well" is way overused. Teams that have a lot of success get a big following across the country and are national brands. The reason half of the stadium in Kansas City is rooting for the Yankees is not because 25 thousand people travelled from NY. Same goes for fan bases like the Steelers, Cowboys, Lakers, Duke, etc. it's not a function of traveling so much as gaining a large national bandwagon following
