So thats like a ~4.65 in real life.

Cam was more quick footed and bullish than he was fast. Cam could leave jocks all over the field.

I understand what you are saying, but 6'5" 245lbs and running 4.59 is pretty dang fast.

No doubt.
ETA Of all his skills, speed was the least effective for him.

I figured I could count on you to cherry pick one play.

It's actually a 4.84 if it was run in a track meet. To convert from hand held time to FAT, the formula is to round every time up to the next tenth and add .24. Thus, 4.51 becomes 4.6 plus .24 = 4.84.

Happy to oblige.

Cam more than likely is the better runner, but JJ hasn't been asked to run enough to know what he can do. All I remember was Malzahn saying JJ ran the read option pretty well during practices last year. I am excited to see what we have at QB this year. I can't wait to see it myself.

Find me two more plays where he did that. Just two. That shouldn't be hard.

Plenty in here where you can see his speed was a weapon.
You are correct his feet are amazing but his speed was definitely a weapon. Just watch the times he turns it on and gets around the corners.

He wasn't slow, but I will always maintain that speed was least of his attributes. His quickness was far better than his speed.

He was loaded with weapons. His ability to turn direction and cut is definitely a key to his success, but you can see speed used in several of the runs I linked.
Here is one as a Panther. That is speed all the way.

quote:Yes he has when you count his 4 years of high school which as a Prattville fan I had the great pleasure & sometimes pain of watching. He was a comfortable runner in high school. The few times AU has asked him to read and/or run he has looked at best a bit awkward. Jason Campbell 2.0 IMO to this point, athletic ability but looks awkward doing it & would much rather pass than run. Now JJ may have changed to be fluid but that's where things stand from the last time we saw him run.
JJ hasn't been asked to run enough to know what he can do.
