So I know we've covered most of the weird aTm "traditions" on here (e.g. jizz jars, male spooning, etc)

But today I found out about one that I think may have slipped through the cracks, apparently y'all don't use the term alumnus? apparently the preferred nomenclature is just "former student"

Can any aggies give a little background info?

Same reason I refer to myself as a former active duty Marine. Once a Marine always a Marine.

Once an Aggie always an Aggie.

Just a thing.

They really don't belong in the SEC. They're a cult. The guy who did the HBP Scientology documentary is working on one of them as we speak.

This has been a long and cherished Aggie tradition.

Given the significant inbreeding in Alabama, the numerous ways "Auburn Family" applies to y'all always cracked me up.

I'll go you one further w that term. Anyone who simply attended TAMU can dickride the Former Student title. You don't have to be " '96' " suffixed douche (or insert grad date).

They howl at "sidewalk" or "tshirt" but nary a blink is given to that nugget.

How is "Former Student" weird?
And why would anyone else care?
Not trying to be confrontational, but file this one under so what?

See, OP?

Many an Aggy reply and they can't dispute my post.

The next time you see an Ag laugh at a tshirt fan, just roll your eyes and laugh at them. And man, do they love to t-bag Whorn over the same damn thing.

You've been misinformed. While there is a thing about not being a "former Aggie," use of the term "alumni" is not forbidden. Hell, the Association of Former Students has its headquarters in a building named the "Clayton W. Williams, Jr., Alumni Center."

We don't have anything against the word alumni, just choose to use former student. What a weird thing to give a shite about.

Been saying this since they joined.
