Yep that part makes no sense. Either they had probable cause for the arrest or not.

Sounds like (and I'm just making an assumption here) there was indeed an altercation between the couple. But she's the one that called the cops and pressed charges, and had him arrested. Then after the shite hit the fan, he gets kicked off the team, scholarship gone, and the likelyhood of the Georgia case going in the toilet + this latest DV incident on his record......She now feels that maybe, just maybe it was an over reaction on her part? IDK?

It's domestic violence. A simple accusation is all they really need for the most part.

Not sure about Alabama but in most states probable cause can mean a simple accusation by a female. Look at Junior Galette for example. He had video proving he did nothing wrong and still went to jail because woman said "he might have hit me."
