Now for a little Astros discussion. I am actually excited this year. I think .500 is a must and will probably be a few games over it baring major injuries. Just look at the potential line up.
1. Altuve - batting champ
2. Springer - budding star
3. Valbuena - 3rd base offseason acquisition. .776 OPS last year.
4. Carter - tons of Ks, but had 37 homers last year.
5. Lowrie - solid vet and only keeping Correa's seat warm until Sept, if not sooner.
6. Gattis - huge potential with some real power.
7. Castro - if he can return to 2013 all star form then watch out.
8. Rasmus - hell of an 8 hole, still young (27)
9. Marisnick - only real question mark, but a strong prospect still.

Potentially great lineup. Expect a ton of strikeouts between Springer, Carter, and Gattis. But expect tons of power as well.
If McHugh and Keuchel can pitch like they did last year, and we get solid contributions from Feldman, Obie, and maybe someone like Asher Woj, we can certainly be a .500 team. But pitching definitely seems to be the question mark to me

I would be pretty surprised if they bring up Correa this year unless they're in the thick of a race for a playoff spot, which I don't expect. He's yet to take a single AB at AA. He will likely be in the same spot next year Bryant is in now where they send him down for a couple weeks to start 2016 to play the arb game. Lowrie should slide nicely into a super sub role once Correa comes up.
I think 75-80 wins is pretty likely. There is going to be some regression from the rotation and possibly from Carter and Altuve, but the upgraded pen, 3B and a healthy Springer should add some wins. Next year is the year they should really be looking to contend with Appel probably starting his first full year (I think he's up mid 15 at some point), Correa on his way up, more experience and hopefully a big rotation signing (Jordan Zimmerman please).
Regardless I'm excited and hopefully they can exceed my expectations for this season.
