I think the point here is the line needs to be drawn at players who are a danger to the community which is clearly present here.

University of Alabama, the AD, and Nick Saban clearly did not care for the safety of students and the community, but were focused solely on football...

The line should be drawn with the safety of the community. Pretty simple.

I think this sounded good in your head but you didn't think this one through.

By definition, domestic violence is not public violence. There are all sorts of reasons that it is serious and needs to be addressed, but the one area that it is NOT is the danger to the community. A guy getting in a bar fight is more of a danger to the community. Someone guilty of domestic violence is a danger not to the community but to the people living with him. SERIOUS danger in some cases, and definitely a serious crime...but the "danger to the community" angle is pretty weak.
