Will not take the time but some of the BAMA folks comparing DV to misdemeanor smaller crimes committed at other schools. IMHO, That is defending him, however deflection would also be accurate.

Everyone knew he embarassed Saban and must go.

I don't know how old you are, or in what third world locales you may have spent [up to] the last 120 years, but here are two facts regarding domestic violence in America:

1) Up until about 9 months ago (or whenever the Ray Rice thing surfaced) Domestic Violence WAS that "misdemeanor smaller crime" in America. It was what cops bitched about when they needed something concrete to bitch about. It was, as it ever had been, PRECISELY that "misdemeanor smaller crime" that wasn't REALLY a crime because it happened all the time and the "victims" hardly ever chose to press charges.

2) Since the Ray Rice thing Domestic Violence has been a "major" crime in America. Per the media. We've witnessed a literal "one eighty" in less than one year.

A few of us in this thread have referred and/or alluded to this thus far. Not that any of us are defending a man's right to commit Domestic Violence. None of us wants it to return to a position of invisibility. However, the fact remains that ten months ago (or so) it was treated (by the media, law enforcement, and many if not most of the general American public) comparably to that "minor misdemeanor" that is smoking marijuana today; suddenly it's treated ala smoking marijuana in eastern Texas circa 1971: your arse goin to prison.
