to prevent any kid who catches a felony, you're guaranteeing they are going back to the hood, and probably to commit worse crimes to survive. Kick them/suspend them from the team. But let them stay in school while they try to learn their lesson.

I get what you're saying, but universities aren't rehab programs. Attending them is a privilege that you have to earn.

If you're concerned about the well-being of a felon, put him/her in a treatment facility. That applies to all students who cause problems like this. Guys like Taylor have no business being college students.

There's no such thing. And if there is then who's going to pay for it? This isn't Sweden.

Your post is good. Your sentiment is solid. But if he's not a football player then he isn't going to be a student, and if he's not a student then no one is going to pay to put him in a treatment center. We're back to square one, in other words. You either give him a chance to be a college football player or you send him back home an unemployable felon.

^^^ Truth ^^^

I never seem to understand how college football fans fail to grasp this. Why do other college football programs feel as though another football team is a rehab program that the athlete is entitled to after losing that chance at his previous university? It shouldn't take that drastic a measure to learn a lesson in the first place. Playing college sports is a major privilege that isn't afforded to just anyone and should be treated as such.
