How so?

Nice shiny hook. I'll bite.

Taking the stairs versus taking the elevator is a normal life decision that generally carries no risk for either the mother or the unborn child, and no criminal intent.

Cutting a baby from someone is not a normal life decision that does carry criminal intent. And just to clarify, so does drinking, doing drugs, and smoking when you're pregnant-and mothers who do this should also be punished, IMO.

I'm not comparing the two as similar, nor did I say something as preposterous as taking the stairs would imply intent - hence why I stated involuntary manslaughter.

quote:

Elements of the Offense
Three elements must be satisfied in order for someone to be found guilty of involuntary manslaughter:

Someone was killed as a result of act by the defendant.

The act either was inherently dangerous to others or done with reckless disregard for human life.

The defendant knew or should have known his or her conduct was a threat to the lives of others.

And they would be if life is legally defined as beginning at conception.
