You should've shown up to watch one of the worst teams in the country for a decade straight! It's not our fault we wouldn't let you hire a good coach for pocket change,
Not only did I attend the games while the rest of the country and our SEC brethen laughed at the program, but I donated money and put my butt and my family's butts in the seats to support them.

or even think about building an on campus stadium instead of playing in the ghetto,

To be fair, a few blocks in a city can be entering a different world.

No doubt. I did the same thing for UAB even though it was tough. UAB's situation is not UA's situation though. Imagine if instead of UA going after Saban after the tough stretch and instead of investing heavily into facilities...they had Mike Dubose forced on them for another solid decade and put zero extra money into UA football for 10 years. Where do you think the UA program would be right now? Where would donations be? Where would ticket sales be? Would you be getting laughed at?
That's kind of an equivalent situation to where UAB football was at the end of 2006. Instead of going after the up and coming coach, they had a guy coming off a DUI forced on them...and then given a contract extension after winning 30% of his games. There were two ways for UAB to go in 2006 and they were forced down the wrong path.

Bama was able to sell out that stadium in the ghetto for YEARS. Hell Soccer got better attendance at Legion than UAB football
