Hey guys,
I just moved to Waco, TX on the first of the year and have been watching LSU games at home with the Mrs. (outside of one Road Trip to College Station) but really want to hit a sports bar with some fellow fans for the tourney game. My wife will be back in BR so I can't even count on one other fan watching with me...
If anyone is planning to get a group together and watch the game or know of any nearby LSU groups, any help is appreciated! Would be willing to drive as far as College Station/Austin/Dallas/Ft Worth. Even if it's just some SEC fans that are planning to hit a sports bar/restaurant and watch the game, I'd love to have some energy around me haha.
Thanks in advance!
Sincerely,
Tiger Fan stuck in TX

There should be huge LSU alumni gatherings in Austin and DFW for games on Saturdays. I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you where they watch in Dallas or Fort Worth, I thought the Dallas place was somewhere in Lower Greenville last time I was up there but it might have changed

They typically gather in the frozen foods section

There's lots of things going on in Central Texas. Too bad you're 3 hours away from Central Texas, in Waco.

I feel your pain, I spent my first 21 years of life in Waco and as an LSU fan there really isn't much to do. Obviously if you didn't want to leave the area I would say George's is your best bet. Always a great time and there's nothing better than a Big-O. However, there won't be many LSU faithful, if any at all, there. It's a big Baylor bar, pretty much right across 35 from campus.
My dad will probably go out to watch the game, but if LSU loses he wouldn't be very enjoyable to be around lol.
DFW is probably your best bet.

If you are willing to drive to Austin go to Shoal Creek Saloon (worth it for the food as well). It will be packed with your ilk.

Lol well I've only been there a few times because my parents are friends with owners, but I don't ever really go there just because the location and the clientele. It's an older crowd for sure, I'm 24 and grew up in China Spring and later when I went to school at BU lived by campus so I never ventured too far to drink if I didn't have to.
Salty Dog does have a crap ton of tv's though and it's a sports bar above anything else. I just haven't been in like a year and for all I know the hype could've died down with that place.
George's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cricket's, Muddle are places where I try and stick to when it comes to watching sports.
If overall atmosphere is what you want then George's is the place to go. They also have a Hewitt location.
Since I moved I know Waco also got a Twin Peaks and I see a lot of people on FB who go there to watch games, but I haven't eaten there when I've gone back so I'm not sure.

Yea I'm 27 and I've been once and while the food and drinks were good, the clientele was really what I was wondering about. Seemed like an older crowd. Thanks for the insight man! I really appreciate it!!!
