I openly hate country music. Most of you know this.
So, I pose this question, does Steve Earle transcend country or am I just a bit off in the country hate?

A lot of his stuff is very bluesy. I wouldn't consider him a country artist.

Off to listen to Galway Girl on repeat without shame.

Steve Earle isn't a country artist though he has done some country music. He's a fantastic singer/songwriter, definitely one of my faves.

Billy Currington is about the only country artist I still listen to, so I somewhat agree with your hate. The amount of good country music is very scarce and passed its heyday.

I agree, it died sometime in the 90s with exception to a few artist that tried to stay true. I listen to 40s - 80s country. I'm a Hag fan forever though.
Here are a couple of links by artist that kept shite kickin country music, campfire beer drinkin fun.
Hank Wilson's Back- Leon Russel
Blue Ridge Rangers- John Fogerty.

Then here's Hag LINK
