I've read all about it man. I'm aware of this. If you think they didn't develop their own sound that influenced rock and roll for generations than you are delusional.
I love the blues and have listened to all the songs that people reference LZ using. Those artists didn't have anywhere close to the sound of Led Zeppelin. They were old blues artists.

If you mean playing the same riffs, only plugged into an amplifier , then yes, they had their own sound. And I'm a LZ fan

And LZ blatantly ripped off lyrics and riffs from blues artists without ever giving credit to the original writers. That's not "making a song their own", it's plagerism. Do you think its a coincidence that they have been sued a number of times and lost?

A good number of the " great" bands of the 60's developed their own sound using the Blues as their inspiration... Stones, Beatles, Who. However, LZ took it to the next level and actually used lyrics of other artists without giving credit.
