I could see a UF sweep happening. Our pitching has been a bit inconsistent to think that VU will sweep Arky but I would sure take it. Arky should see Walker Buehler for his first full go start I the season (eased back in after some stiffness at start of the year).

And then Alabama won't produce enough offense to take advantage of anything. And Gaspard will mismanage the bullpen.

Our bats have gone cold lately against decent pitching. Put 2 competent starters out there and we're done.

I think it'll be interesting to see how we do against the Trent kid from Ole Miss. I think he started out at LSU and then transferred to Delgado in New Orleans. He gave us some issues last year and I'm sure he'll be psyched up to compete again this year.
All three of our starters got extended this past weekend and threw extremely well in a neutral site, big league stadium with tons of pressure. I think Poche gets the job done Friday and outlasts the former LSU kid and then Lange is going to announce himself to the SEC on Saturday. Godfrey to me is still a bit of a box of chocolates.
The bullpen is going roaring to go this year, which is great for our starters. We will shackle people with the relievers we have this year. Just a fantastic selection of pitchers to choose from.
One thing to watch is whether we try to keep Jared Foster at 2nd base. He just started taking grounders there Wednesday and had a few chances in the midweek game against McNeese yesterday. He's a former OF and we just have too much talent out there to take anyone else out of the lineup.
With Kramer (My Mom's the HC of the Women's Hoops team at Baylor) slipping a bit at the plate and Grayson Byrd a little inconsistent and the outfield a packed house, we're trying to find places for all of the bats.
If Foster can make the switch somehow, we'll be loaded for bear offensively and will be hard to beat this year once SEC play cranks up.

Let's just put it this way. With how Alabama has looked so far, Gaspard must not want to coach in that brand new ballpark next year. But then again, apparently Anthony Grant has survived another lackluster season.

I like most of your picks, with the following possible exceptions: - I think Florida sweeps Tennessee - MSU takes two of three from the Tide - Ole Miss manages to steal one from LSU
I agree 100%.

What's a huge plus for LSU is we don't have to play UF or Vandy in the reg season. We should be top 2 in the league come tourney time

The guy deserves a year or two of recruiting in a decent facility. Can't fire him after a year of playing on the road.

This is his 6th season as head coach. I think we kind of know what Gaspard is and is not. Woefully inconsistent like he was as Northwestern State. His best season was year one with Jim Wells' leftovers. He's only finished above .500 in conference play once.

Ole Miss is a decent team and it's not out of the realm of possibility that they can somehow steal the series vs LSU. Don't see LSU sweeping them.

4 regionals, 1 super in 5 years playing in a horrible park with no fan support. Pretty "woefully inconsistent", the guy deserves a few years in a decent SEC facility.

Good post GFunk.
I didn't see Friday's game but watched the 2nd & 3rd games. Spot on comment about Lange and Godfrey.
Spot on here too.

LSU really let Saturday's game sneak away from them. Still a little bitter about that but i guess 2/3 is still good.

LSU had runners in scoring position several times but they just couldn't get that one hit to finish the game. Just one of those hits LSU got on Sunday would have been ideal on Saturday night.
Question - anyone know if the SEC still has a travel rule in place for Sunday? Apparently, its changed or maybe even done away with for game broadcast reasons.
