It's hard to get into baseball without a local MLB team nearby. If you grew up and still live in the south, I don't blame you for not liking baseball. Best thing about baseball is having a favorite MLB team and going through the ebbs and flows of a season with that team. The payoff is much more satisfying and rewarding than other sports when your favorite team is doing well. College baseball just doesn't offer that same feeling and it's hard to jump on the bandwagon of a team with no attachment to where you live. So it's pretty understandable why southerners don't care for the sport.
