Aerosmith definitely should be on the list. Their early stuff was great but after they cleaned up and sold out to MTV they became almost unlistenable. Made me sick to see an Aerosmith tribute show and they didn't pick anything prior to the mid '80s.

Nirvana is overrated not because they weren't great but because they get credited far too often as being THE group that took grunge mainstream. Pearl Jam deserves every bit if not more credit than Nirvana and before Cobain died Pearl Jam was the bigger deal. Cobain just made the perfect tragic character, he was the Buddy Holly of his era that through his death made himself into an icon when otherwise he would have been one of many. It's downright insulting when they act as though Nirvana is what made grunge mainstream, Nirvana was one of many. I also hate them all because they killed rock and roll and I am insulted when people call grunge the voice of Generation X.

U2. Never got the U2 love. I mean Bono is a cool dude and they have a few decent songs but it seems like they are more successful off of their coolness factor than the music.

I am not a big Beatles guy but I don't know how anyone can call them overrated. They absolutely dominated the '60s music wise and made an incredible diversity of music in what was really about a 6 year run. They truly pushed the envelope and had no fear. The early stuff was bubble gum but the later stuff is really amazing.
