Some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, as well as some of the most terrible scenery in the country.
The northern and eastern Arkansas accent is probably the least pleasing southern accent there is. More of a harsh and trashy accent compared to the drawn out and dumb sounding MS and Alabama counterparts.
Hot Springs is a good time and cool hideaway. Lots of interesting history there.
I-40 from memphis to little rock has been under constant construction for 50 years straight.
The border with Missouri from northwest AR to the Jonesboro area might be some of the most backwoods and scary places in the country. However the NWA area has gotten really nice. The rest of the state besides those areas is Mississippi.

Harrison has some outspoken racists.
The area you described is sparsely populated. It also has several clear lakes and rivers, lots of pretty country and a few popular retirement destinations. It isn't as poor or backward as the MS delta, for example.
