Total class act. True story - I wrote him, and let him know my mom really enjoyed his show, and he sent her an autographed photo letting her know that I had reached out to him.

Negative. This is a long disproved urban/internet legend with no basis in truth.

Rogers' major in college was Music Composition but he later attended both Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Child Development and was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1963.
quote:
According to his official biography from Family Communications, the producers of his show, Fred Rogers went directly from college into media.

Mr . Rogers got all kinds of pussy with that lady Godiva and make believe shite. He wanted to be your neighbor all right.
In all seriousness, Mr. Fred Rogers was an American icon. He was a wonderful advocate for young children and the family. Rogers was a true gentleman and served also as a Presbyterian minister. He will always be someone to be admired and respected.

He was probably a really good guy, but grown men that play with puppets and really enjoy being around kids too much tend to raise red flags in my book.
