DT - JT SURRATT
ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Has a low center of gravity and maintains leverage throughout snap. Looks to jolt offensive linemen with post-snap punch. Won't just allow himself to be blocked against the run -- fights to get off the block and make a play. Has good foot quickness on the interior. Sees it, thumps with his punch, shuffles and mirrors the ball carrier. Possesses good strength in his hands and can hold his ground against double teams. Can change directions well and gets off the snap quickly.
WEAKNESSES Short levers for an interior player. Generally ineffective as interior rusher. Needs to improve hand usage in pass rush and learn to threaten the edge of the guard. Gets fewer effort sacks than he should. Turns motor off when he senses his pass rush is stalled. Will pursue run down the line, but his secondary pursuit can be lazy and lackluster. Inconsistent tackle quality. Doesn't disengage quickly enough to make plays on the other side of the line.
NFL COMPARISON Dwan Edwards
BOTTOM LINE Surratt's effort is good inside the tackle box and he's tough at the point of attack, but he won't impress with production or game-changing plays. The twitch and traits are very average, but he can punch in and out and give a team a solid day's work. He's a rotational lineman with an ability to hit spot starts in case of injury.

PROJECTIONS
CBS Sports - FA
COMBINE RESULTS
40 yd - 5.19
Bench Reps - 29
Vertical - 30 Inches
Broad Jump - 106 Inches
3 Cone - 7.78 Seconds
20 Yd Shuttle - 4.71 Seconds
All together, Surratt had a better Combine than I thought he would. I think he helped his chances of getting drafted. He wasn't a Top Performer in any of the categories, but he wasn't last either. I think he actually did enough to end up getting drafted, when he was on the bubble of doing that before the Combine.
UPDATE Right now it looks like the Rams might be interested in him in the 6th or 7th Rd.
