The whole point of service dogs for veterans of PTSD is therapy, part of which is helping them interact with people because people by nature want to interact with the dog. So really, it should be okay to engage lightly with this particular service dog. It's not like this was a guide dog helping a blind or deaf person.

I knew a guy with one in Hawaii. They ended up kicking him out of the barracks because it's technically not a service dog. They were referred to as therapy dogs and were not allowed to wear the "service dog" markings and didn't have the same rules. Most likely, this girls was the same (not wearing official markings). They shouldn't have called her a bitch, but she and her sister are blowing it out of proportion, imo.

Once again, it doesn't matter what people in this thread think, it's how the state laws read.
