Well Auburn isn't in Califonia, thank God. And I don't think whistling or making kissy noises at a service dog constitutes harassment or obstruction. The woman in question says herself it happens all the time (it is a dog), she just happened to be in a bitchy mood right then and told them to stop.

Doesn't matter how it's characterized in this thread. Matters how the state laws read.

quote:

Just over twenty states have laws that prohibit interference with a service animal. Nebraska’s law provides a typical criminal interference statute:

2) A person commits the offense of interference with a service dog when he or she (a) intentionally impedes, interferes, or threatens to impede or interfere or (b) attempts to intentionally impede, interfere, or threaten to impede or interfere with a dog that he or she knows or has reason to believe is a dog guide for a blind or visually impaired person, a hearing aid dog for a deaf or hearing-impaired person, or a service dog for a physically limited person.

A) they weren't intentionally trying to interfere with the dogs service

B) it's not a guide dog, a hearing aid dog, and the woman isn't physically impaired (at least that's not why she claims to have a service dog)

C) once again, the service that dogs provide veterans with PTSD is therapeutic and is to help them better interact with the public and deal with social situations, so if anybody was interfering with the dogs service in this situation it was the woman
