They have service dogs for veterans with PTSD. My brother in law who is a retired Marine is looking into getting one. They're supposed to make easier for the veterans to cope with their PTSD in public by calming them down. It's also supposed to be therapeutic and make it easier for them to talk to people because want to come up and pet your dog. Clearly the service dog wasn't working for this woman.


ETA:

They're classified as "service dogs" so you can take them into public, which is where people with PTSD struggle, but the only "service" they provide is therapy.

I have never heard of that and I did one deployment to Afghanistan myself. I never claimed PTSD either so I wouldn't know. If she freaked out this much over a couple kids, she needs to see the VA again because having a dog isn't working.
