Here's a stat comparison, judge for yourself.

2014 - first 43 games for SEC teams (opening weekend) - 18 HomeRuns
2015 - first 43 games for SEC teams (opening weekend) - 34 HomeRuns

D1Baseball also reported an avg increase of 1 Run per game for all of the NCAA games (week 1 of '14 compared to week 1 of '15.)

It's a small sample. They're affecting the game, but you can't lean on the evidence from one weekend. You also can't look at anything/game. Every game has a different amount of at-bats; some are 8.5 innings some are 16; etc.

What really needs to be analyzed are HR rates, extra base hit rates, maybe even pitcher independent statistics.

It'll be a statistically significant number by end of season, that'll be the interesting numbers. They were thinking a roughly 20% increase in HR production. I think it could be closer to 30-35%.

That may seem like a small difference, but it's huge. Great to see. College baseball got itself in serious trouble with the old balls. TD Ameritrade is a debacle that will never end, unfortunately.

According to UGA fans the baseballs caused them the 08 national title.

Or something along those lines
