I have a "relative" by marriage in Congress, a 20+ yr veteran, and he's commented at family gatherings that a lot of what is protrayed is accurate. Not so much as to this or that politician being THAT dumb, but it's a " cuthroat & everyone for himself" type of mentality according to him. He said that nothing gets done unless some sort of deal is cut, i.e. both/all individuals get something out of it, either politically or materialistically.

Watched the first 2 episodes last night...definitely has me intrigued.

As for the realistic portion...So far it seems pretty accurate. Politics are all about give and take. Some of it is obviously for TV, but that makes it interesting.

Hope it continues this well into future episodes
