Chromebooks are what they are, internet machines. If all you want to do is surf the web, watch videos, listen to music, etc... get one.
If you want to do any kind photo editing, document editing, gaming, get at least an Intel i3 or better

I have work laptop for my visios and cads and MS Office etc.
And I have bottom of the line HP with I3 intel for personal use, it's what I'm using right now.
I hate it. It's not consumer upgradable so I can't put more RAM in it. It is slow. It has Windows 8, and I didn't get the touchscreen. The keys are falling off. The Mouse pad has some weird bug that freezes it up and does other wierd shite, been troubleshooting that on google for a while.
99% of its use is web.
Chromebook type of device is exactly what I need.
QUESTION about it, is it a cheap piece of shite that has issues too? I see they are made by Acer and Asus and all the usual suspects for shittiness, that's my hesitation.
Google does a good job of hiding negative things in its search results. Whats the word on the street?
