I have always been told chromebooks are suited for the most minimal tasks. Designed to let you surf the internet in a lightweight, compact shell. Minimal power and memory means you aren't going to be doing too much, and you aren't going to be doing anything too quickly.

Probably wise to spend a little more and get out of the netbook class, but I'm not sure what all you need to do with it. Hope that helped some
