he turned tennessee down last year, why would he go to Bama and play second fiddle to the football program?

Because there was a legitimate chance Kennedy would be gone in a year then. That chance is gone now.
But maybe he is ok staying at LTU until Ole Miss or a Top 20 program come open and hire him, I dunno.
