Hey Cocks, you worried about losing the series after dropping the opener?

What about that #5 ranking if you lose the series? Does that mean you were overrated, or Charleston was underrated?

Charleston is pretty damn good. That's not a bad OOC loss.

We're also ranked 10, 12, 15 & 21 based on the poll you look at. Also Charleston is ranked in a few of the polls as well.

So I don't think it means anything except that they outplayed us this weekend. Charleston maybe a little underrated depending on which poll you look at.

USC and the College are currently the 2 best baseball programs in South Carolina.

Monte spent 6 seasons (and 2 Omaha's) in the dugout next to Ray. he's also a damn good recruiter.

this is also a series between two schools that have a combined 38 SC kids that played either with or against each other in high school. some in state championship games.

It's the first game of the first series of the season lady, against a good instate rival ...

.... with five months still to go.

Would you be worried if you lost to a good Tulane team in the season opener?

Not really worried about losing the series or ranking. CofC was a super regional team last year and they're probably at least a regional team again this year.

I'm just interested in seeing what this SC team is made of right now. Too early to be worrying about rankings.

Most of the real talent are freshmen/sophomores.. they'll gel together and get better by conference play, hopefully.

small schools compete better in baseball against the big schools than in other sports. there are tons of quality recruits that big schools don't or can't sign each year. the schollie limits are very restrictive and some of the "undersized" pitchers large schools deem too small are actually damn good. imo, one of the great things about college baseball is that the "little" guy (both athlete and school) can compete favorably.

We were overrated? C of C was underrated?

lulz

C of C was ranked preseason ... until we beat them.

What is Nichols State ranked?

I'm not going to ask the same stupid questions you asked because it would be an insult to all good LSU baseball fans.
