do you consider Division titles to be a "championship"?

Nah, but winning the division is still an accomplishment worth bragging about

No, winning the division is worthless especially if that division sucked that year.

Case in point: Even lowly Arkansas made the trip to Atlanta 3 times.

it is what it is - better than nothing but short of what you should want

With teams in each division playing uneven schedules the purpose of a division champ isn't really to identify the best team in each division so much as make sure the best two teams in the conference just about can't avoid playing each other. If you understand that then it tends to lower your excitement over just winning a division.

Winning the division but losing the conference championship is like finishing second in a beauty pageant. You were good enough to get there but not good enough to win the whole damn thing.

No, there is no championship game associated with a division title. The is the same problem the Big 12 has with no championship game. There must be a playoff game that leads to a championship.
