Nashville - that city that is opened 52 weeks a year? I can do that any of the other 51 weeks out of the year. I would rather walk the few hundred feet up the hill to that world class rv in the not so world class rv park and fire up the Weber (got to travel light, you know), throw on a nice strip steak, get an ice cold beer out of the ice cold refrig in the outdoor kitchen and while the wife makes a world class salad, I watch the perfectly cooked steak. All of that for probably 1/4 the price of staying in Nashville. SEC baseball tourney is only one week out of the year. Again, I can go to Nashville any time I want.
Look, we get it. You love taking your RV to the tournament. That appeals to a limited number of folks from a limited geographic area (reasonable driving distance from Birmingham). For anyone not in an RV, a park in a downtown setting, with lots of hotels, restaurants, and other amusements within easy walking distance, is the preferred option. The only thing that the Big XII actually got right was having their baseball tournament in OKC--that park was perfectly located.

I admitted to being different from most. I explained why when he mentioned the symphony and museums and such. You are kind of new but the last time they renewed the contract with then Regions Park (before the Barons moved), the RV crowd lobbied loud and hard. Some say the only reason it stayed in Hoover was because of them. That's a lot of tickets bought from that group. Things are different now. There is no home team at the Hoover Met. I expect it to move after the contract is up.
