Why didn't the CFB Playoff Committee make a final ranking for the hell of it?

Every other major ranking creates a top 25 post-bowl game ranking. Why doesn't the committee do the same? To much work?This post was edited on 2/5/15 at 2:01 pm

1) They serve a specific purpose, and only that purpose: to select and seed the final four teams. Making a post-bowl ranking has no function in that purpose;
2) Unlike other polls, they meet in person and discuss their rankings. Others just send them in. So the committee would have to arrange a further face-to-face meeting for something that isn't in their purview. They're busy people with other things to do once their "job" is finished.

A final poll would have to include TCU somewhere in the top 4. That would create more trouble than it would be worth.
