Freeze has done well there (despite the lack of D1 talent recently), but losing Crowell certainly wouldn't help to establish a "pipeline".

I feel like MSU kind of hurt themselves with the Russell situation. Is that not the case?

I don't know how we hurt ourselves with Russell...

The only player that has come out of there since him is CJ, right?

There's four there this year and no one is getting a clean sweep. I don't know if either school will ever have a pipeline there. Meridian is pretty divided as far as the population goes, whereas schools like USP and WP are pretty true to their Universities.
