There's one member of Texas' 2015 signing class who won't be arriving on campus with the rest of the signees in the coming days and weeks.

Defensive tackle Du'Vonta Lampkin, a four-star prospect out Houston Cypress Falls, released a statement on his Twitter account that he will not attend the University of Texas. In the statement Lampkin said the decision might not make everybody happy, but it's what he feels he has to do.

Lampkin's high school coach told ESPN.com's Max Olson the Offense-Defense All-American defender needed to take a correspondence course in order to fulfill a foreign language requirement. Horns247 was able to confirm this was the case, but it's irrelevant now that Lampkin has decided to enroll elsewhere.

Horns247 learned in the last few days that Alabama and Oklahoma could be landing spots for Lampkin if things fell apart regarding his situation with Texas. Crimson Tide defensive tackles coach Bo Davis recruited Lampkin when he was at Texas, while Lampkin was once committed to the Sooners before opening things up last spring.

Officials at Texas did not immediately return a request for comment regarding Lampkin's National Letter of Intent he signed with Texas in February and what his options could actually be going forward, including potentially enrolling at another Big 12 institution.

UPDATE (4:55 p.m. Saturday): Horns247 has learned Lampkin has not been released from his letter of intent with Texas as of press time.

Du'Vonta Lampkin Senior Highlights

Hank South doesn't think he comes to Alabama FWIW.
