CHARLOTTE, N.C. - With players from at least five different states in attendance on Saturday for the Charlotte stop of the Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour, there were plenty of outstanding showings. Whether it was a highly ranked player living up to the hype or a sleeper bursting onto the scene, all sorts of action took place in the most talent-rich Charlotte stop in the three-year history of the event. Here's a breakdown of which defensive players stood out the most.

3 LB
Tre Lamar
Roswell, Ga.

Recruiting wrap: Lamar has a top five of Clemson, Auburn, Florida State, Florida and Alabama.

Performance: For a jumbo linebacker like Lamar, the camp setting can be problematic. His strength is stuffing the run and playing in the middle of the field, not chasing smaller, quicker running backs in coverage. But the 6-foot-3 Lamar weighed in at 240 pounds, down double digits from the weight he was carrying at the Elite 50 event at the beginning of the year. With his new, trim physique, Lamar showed impressive athleticism, especially considering he has just finished recovering from a minor injury he suffered in February. The Rivals100 prospect will always been more comfortable in a full contact environment, but he continues to show that he's a versatile prospect.

Eric posted in the thread that Shyheim Carter would be in Tuscaloosa as well this weekend.

No link though.
