What is wrong with celebrating the lives of people who helped end the most demeaning injustice/stain of America's history - slavery? How about the lives of those who fought to bring about equality once slavery was abolished?

You see violence around the world these days, from beheadings to explosions, all in the name of feeling wronged in some way. Yet here, it was mostly peaceful, with most bloodshed being on the hands of whites.

I'm not black, I'm of Scottish heritage (so very white) and am middle-of-the-road-to-slightly-conservative. With that, I see zero wrong with it. It is not racist in the slightest. It is American to the fullest.

Personally, America to it's fullest in this case for me would be celebrating all the people who were involved in the development of this country. Women? Native Americans? So on. Why focus on African Americans for one month?

Like Affirmative Action in it's current form, it's time to make some revisions.
