Here is where all U.S. Senators went to college for their undergraduate degrees.
Missouri, Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vandy, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina all boast senators from their own state.
But the only SEC school that has graduates serving as senators outside their only state is:
Missouri, who has senators representing Virginia and New Mexico.
For the first time ever, I am impressed with something Missouri-ish.
Weirdest thing on this map? Massachusetts, home of Harvard and a shite ton of elite institutions, has a graduate from the University of Houston representing them in the Senate.

I'd like to announce my candidacy for the Missouri House of Representatives in 2016.

UT does have a NC Congressman...but he didn't graduate from UT.

Rand Paul went to Baylor.
but didn't graduate. Boozman played football at Arkansas and didn't graduate. Both went to medical school in programs that did not require an actual conferred degree.
That's why Kentucky and Arkansas only have one school listed.

On a side note...both of Tennessee's senators (along with the Governor) were in the same fraternity.

So you're saying A&M grads are in the private sector, not leeching from the body politic

I'm saying that you all have predilections that make it difficult to win election to statewide office. Reststop shenanigans and gloryhole secrets come to light during a big campaign.
