a University like that will eventually have their "Alabama" moment.

Like what?

Texas is another one of those teams that people talk about like it's some kind of historical powerhouse, but they've never been on the level of Alabama.

The spent 100 years kicking sand In the faces of 99lb Texas leaguers - and Arkansas. Big whoop. They've been scared to schedule LSU for 60 years.

When Bear Bryant got to KY, he putt LSU on their annual schedule. When Bear Bryant got to Alabama he put LSU on their annual schedule. The Bear wasn't scared, he knew that beating LSU only made his team look better, and the venue in Baton Rouge assured revenue.

Texas has been dodging LSU since getting shut out in the 63 Cotton Bowl. Alabama's been coming after LSU since 1964. That's the difference I see between Texas and Alabama.

frick Texas, they wish they could have an "Alabama moment", but it'd probably just turn out to be a shart.

Not necessarily unrelated to the OP, but I agree. Texas has been on the top for a very long time, and will spend any amount of money it takes to get back to the top.

I personally don't see it happening under Strong, but I do believe they will recover.

Also agree on Kyler Murray, why go behind Kyle Allen when you can be "the guy" right away at Texas.

Texas has never been on Alabama's level. That's true, but not many have. Also, I doubt Texas was dodging LSU before recent history. They certainly didn't in the 2002 Cotton Bowl. Actually, Texas and LSU are very comparable historically.
