Waffles are clearly superior right? Built in syrup trap, and you don't hate them halfway through.

Pancakes.
Waffles, or "Waffen" in German, were the official food of the SS. They were like the Nazi version of Wheaties and were marketed as "The breakfast of the Master Race".
Here's an early marketing promo:
"WAFFEN SS EINTRITT NACH VOLLENDETEM 17. LEBENSJAHR"
"SS Waffles! Contains 17 vital nutrients to help you subjugate the world's lesser peoples"

Pancakes. Mix in some crumbled bacon and drizzle a little syrup in them while they're on the griddle.

Waffles and I'll slap in the face anyone who disagrees.
I like the texture better of the waffle and it's not Fried Chicken an Pancakes that is God's gift to man. It's Frick Chicken and Motherfricking waffles. Game. Set. Match.
