It wasn't expected by any means, but a lot of fans have been calling for his head for several years now in regards to the basketball program. He lost and never regained the support of a significant amount of fans after the Quin Snyder debacle. He obviously kept butchering the basketball program even after that, which disillusioned a lot of fans despite the football success.

We have a lot of retarded fans. Mike was great for us. MMQBs and 20/20 hindsight folks are a dime a dozen.
